Meet Our Speakers:

Lyman Sornberger, President & CEO, Lyman Healthcare Solutions, LLC

Lyman G. Sornberger is the President and CEO of Lyman Health Care Solutions (LHS), LLC, that was formed in 2013. He has consulted over 300 Nationwide Healthcare clients, sits on six boards to include AHIMA, and has nine current clients. Prior to LHS, Mr. Sornberger was the Chief Healthcare Strategy Offier at Capio, The Patient Financial Wellness Company. 

Mr. Sornberger has 30+ years in healthcare executive leadership. He served as Executive Director of Revenue Cycle Management at Cleveland Clinic Health System (CCHS). For nearly seven years, Mr. Sornberger was responsible for all eleven hospitals within CCHS and 1,400 physician revenue cycle employees from registration, preauthorization, coding, and all back-office functions. 

Before joining the Cleveland Clinic Health System, Mr. Sornberger was with the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) for 22 years in leadership roles for their physician revenue cycle management groups. His role was to merge all revenue cycle administrative functions for its 16 hospitals, move the organization to convert to a single technical platform, and lead UPMC through their growth with mergers, acquisitions, and international growth. 

Mr. Sornberger proudly served as a medic for six years in the U.S. Army in New Jersey, Washington D.C., and Texas. He is a member of HFMA, AAHAM, ACHE/AHIMA, HIMSS, Becker's, Modern Healthcare, ACA International, and various Advisory Boards.

Janet Arida, PhD, RN, LCSW, CT

Outreach and Education Coordinator; Senior Grief and Clinical Services Specialist, Highmark Caring Place

Janet Arida holds a bachelor's degree in nursing, a master's degree in social work, and a PhD in Nursing. In addition to being a registered nurse and a licensed clinical social worker, she earned certification in Thanatology from the Association for Death Education and Counseling. Janet is currently a grief and clinical services specialist as well as the Outreach and Education Coordinator at the Highmark Caring Place in Warrendale, PA, where she oversees peer support groups for grieving children and their families. Additionally, in her role as Outreach and Education Coordinator, Janet works to heighten awareness of children's grief through consultations, presentations, and trainings for professional and community groups. Prior to joining the Caring Place as a staff member, Janet was a clinical instructor and researcher in end-of-life issues in the School of Nursing at the University of Pittsburgh. During her career, she has worked with children, adolescents, and families in a variety of clinical and community-based settings in both the Chicago and Pittsburgh areas.
